Classic wisdom for modern practice

YSI makes ancient yogic texts relevant to everyday life through by creating community with our online philosophy courses, live workshops, weekend events/retreats, and teacher trainings. We use the most pristine and up to date translations of ancient yogic texts such as The Yoga Sutra by Master Patanajali, The Hatha Yoga Pradipika, and The Bhagavad Gita.

YSI philosophy shines a modern light on these precious ancient texts to create a meaningful connection with our daily practice. We incorporate stories from contemporary books Books like How Yoga Works to make the essence of the Yoga Sutra universally available. At YSI we say: If something doesn’t work all the time then it doesn’t work! Old Masters like Patanjali understood this truth. Everyone shares a common desire to find something that will “really work” to bring about true and lasting happiness.  We at YSI have designed every course, workshop, event, retreat and yoga class with this in mind.

YSI will offer the first of many free philosophy courses in the fall of 2020. We will begin with The Yoga Sutra, by Master Patanjali. The Yoga Sutra is one of the most treasured yogic texts and is covered by most every yoga teacher training in the world! YSI has taken the original Sanskrit and translated it taking into account the sources that Master Patanjali was exposed to during his life.
